I
think every genealogist's dream is to return to their ancestral hometown
and find long-distance relatives. But few of us could hope to be
taken in into their homes. Not only have they
taken me in, they are my very dear friends. |

My children are
Susanne's 7th cousin. Her parents visited us in 2001. Her mother,
Hildegard Neiss Conrad died February 22, 2002. I was able to visit
her gravesite and say my goodbye. You can see she is in a very
beautiful place. Susanne says a tombstone is now in place. |

Ludi (my 6th
cousin) and Christina Neiss and their son Axel and wife Katja are owners
of the Neiss Winery. They laugh when I tell them some Neiss Wine is kept
on display shelves like trophies. |

| Beautiful
Ulrike Neiss Wagner is the daughter of Ludi and Christina. Sorry I do
not have a picture of her husband Klaus. Their daughter Charlotta stole
my heart. |

| I am
hoping Ludi and Christina will visit me. They do not speak English so
their children will have to come and interpret. How soon can you
come? |

| Susanne
took me to a Wine Fest. It's similar to our carnivals but with wine. |
